LaVine Leaps Into Orbit
If you were impressed with Andrew Wiggins’ vertical, check out Zach LaVine here. The ultra-athletic LaVine somehow bests Wiggins’ 44 inch vertical, with an absurd 46 inch vertical of his own in a recent workout with the Lakers. The former UCLA player has been compared to Russell Westbrook and is a possible lottery pick. Check out where he lands in my latest mock draft.
Wiggins Blasts Off
Wow, Andrew Wiggins isn’t athletic or anything. His vertical here is about 44 inches, which is almost 4 feet. That’s insane! Wiggins is a highly touted prospect that has declared for the NBA Draft after his freshman year at Kansas, averaging 17.1 points and 5.9 rebounds per game during his time as a Jayhawk. He is projected to be a top 3 pick in the draft and we will have a better idea of where he’s headed after next week’s NBA Draft Lottery.
NBA Draft’s Under The Radar Early Entrants
With Duke’s Jabari Parker becoming the latest big name to declare for the draft, a lot of players that declare get lost in the mix. Even though the deadline to declare for the NBA Draft is a week away, here is a list of some of the unheralded early entrants in this years’ draft class:

In Case You Missed It
A couple of weeks ago, college basketball had their version of the dunk contest and the players put on a show. Can honestly say this was better than what the NBA has put out there. Here are the highlights in case you missed it:
Eastern Kentucky’s Marcus Lewis ended up winning the 2014 Dunk Title, but Michigan State’s Adreian Payne threw down a vicious jam 37 seconds into the video. I thought it was the best of the night and he had a great celebration as well.
Parker Going Pro
The wait is finally over for Duke fans and NBA scouts alike. Super freshman Jabari Parker has finally made his decision to take his talents to the professional level, leaving behind Durham and the crazies in Cameron Indoor.

Louisville Wins 2013 NCAA Championship
Louisville won the national championship for the first time since 1986 and for the 3rd time overall in school history. Head coach, who was just named to the Basketball Hall of Fame earlier in the day before the game, becomes the first head coach in history to win the championship with two different schools (the other was 1996 with Kentucky). In addition to winning the national championship and being elected to the Hall of Fame, Pitino’s son was named head coach of Minnesota and his horse, Goldenscents, qualified for the Kentucky Derby. What a week. If that wasn’t enough, Pitino is getting a tattoo to hold up his end of the bargain with his Cardinals players.
